This policy covers two Android apps run by Mahakaushal Sugar & Power Industries Ltd (“MSPIL”, “we”), a sugar mill at Village Bachai, District Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. MSPIL decides what the apps collect and is responsible for that data, whichever developer account lists the apps on Google Play:
- MSPIL Cane Farmer (com.mspil.cane.farmer) — for cane growers who supply MSPIL;
- MSPIL Cane Field Manager (com.mspil.cane.fieldmanager) — for MSPIL staff only;
and the website cane.mspil.in that both apps talk to.
1. What the Cane Farmer app uses
- Your mobile number and 4-digit PIN — to sign you in. The cane office sets your PIN. If you forget it, call the cane office. We store the PIN only as a one-way hash.
- Your grower record, which MSPIL already holds — name, father’s name, grower code, village, season, your cane manager’s name and phone number. The app shows these to you so you can check them. It does not show any bank or payment details.
- Your cane supply — parchis (supply slips), tokens and weighments (gross, tare and net weight, karda in kg). The app does not show what a delivery is worth or any payment details. Money may be shown in the app later.
- Field locations — when you map a field, the app uses your phone’s precise location (GPS) while you walk the boundary or tap on the map. Only the boundary you save is sent to us. The app never tracks your location in the background, and it asks your permission first.
- Requests you make — parchi, harvester and transport requests.
The app also shows you the details the factory holds about you: grower code, name, father’s name, village, mobile number, bank name, IFSC and only the last 4 digits of your account. You can confirm them or say something is wrong. Your answer and its time are kept with your grower record.
2. What the Cane Field Manager app uses (MSPIL staff)
- Staff sign-in — mobile number and a password set by the cane office. We store the password only as a one-way hash.
- Grower details that staff look up or register — name, father’s name, phone number, village; parchis issued; harvester and transport choices.
- Field surveys — the farm’s GPS location, crop condition notes and up to three photos per survey; an optional profile photo of the staff member.
- Camera — to take survey photos and to scan the QR code on the gate slip in the cane yard. The QR code is read on the phone; no video is recorded.
- Yard phone pairing — an ID made by the app and the phone’s make and model, sent only to the mill’s own server on the mill’s local network, so the yard knows which phone unloaded a trolley.
3. What we do not do
- No advertising, and no analytics or tracking tools in either app.
- We do not sell or rent anyone’s data.
- The apps do not read your contacts, SMS messages, call log or files.
4. Why we use it
To run cane supply and pay growers correctly: issue and track parchis, weigh cane, calculate and pay for cane, plan harvesting and transport, survey crops, and contact you about your supply.
5. Who else receives data
Only these, and only what each needs to do its job for us:
- Hosting — our cloud server is hosted by Railway; the mill also keeps data on its own server.
- Maps — map images come from Esri (satellite view) and OpenStreetMap, and place search uses Photon (komoot). They receive the map area being viewed and any place name you type — not your name or phone number.
- Our bank — your name, bank account and the amount, to pay you.
- Authorities — when the law requires it (for example the cane department or tax authorities).
6. Security
Traffic between the apps and our cloud server is encrypted (HTTPS), and the sign-in token on your phone is stored encrypted. The Field Manager’s yard screen talks to the mill’s own server over the mill’s private local network. Staff see only what their role needs; full bank account numbers are shown only to MSPIL’s administrators and accounts team, and the Field Manager app never shows them.
7. How long we keep data
- Grower, supply, weighment and payment records — as long as Indian law requires for accounting and tax records (the Companies Act, 2013 requires books of account to be kept for at least eight years) and while any payment or dispute is open.
- App sign-in data (PIN or password hash) — while you use the app. Deleted when you ask us to delete your app account.
- Fields you mapped and survey photos — while you supply cane to MSPIL, for crop and harvest planning. You can ask us to delete the fields you mapped.
8. Your choices
- See your details in the app; to correct them, contact your cane manager or the cane office.
- Turn off location permission at any time in your phone’s settings — only field mapping needs it.
- Ask us to delete your app account: see Account deletion.
9. Children
The apps are for adult cane growers and MSPIL staff, not for children.

- MSPIL Cane Farmer (com.mspil.cane.farmer) — MSPIL को गन्ना देने वाले किसानों के लिए;
- MSPIL Cane Field Manager (com.mspil.cane.fieldmanager) — केवल MSPIL कर्मचारियों के लिए;
और वेबसाइट cane.mspil.in पर, जिससे दोनों ऐप जुड़ते हैं।
1. केन फ़ार्मर ऐप क्या जानकारी लेता है
- आपका मोबाइल नंबर और 4 अंकों का पिन — लॉगिन के लिए। केन ऑफ़िस आपका पिन सेट करता है। पिन भूल जाएँ तो केन ऑफ़िस को फ़ोन करें। हम पिन को सिर्फ़ एक-तरफ़ा हैश के रूप में रखते हैं।
- आपका किसान रिकॉर्ड, जो MSPIL के पास पहले से है — नाम, पिता का नाम, किसान कोड, गाँव, सीज़न, आपके केन मैनेजर का नाम और फ़ोन नंबर। ऐप ये आपको दिखाता है ताकि आप जाँच सकें। ऐप कोई बैंक या पेमेंट की जानकारी नहीं दिखाता।
- आपकी गन्ना सप्लाई — पर्चियाँ, टोकन और तौल (कुल, खाली और शुद्ध वज़न, कर्दा किलो में)। ऐप अभी गन्ने की कीमत या पेमेंट की कोई जानकारी नहीं दिखाता। आगे चलकर ऐप में पैसों की जानकारी आ सकती है।
- खेत की लोकेशन — खेत का नक्शा बनाते समय, जब आप मेड़ पर चलते हैं या नक्शे पर टैप करते हैं, ऐप फ़ोन की सटीक लोकेशन (GPS) लेता है। सिर्फ़ आपकी सेव की हुई खेत की सीमा हमें भेजी जाती है। ऐप बैकग्राउंड में कभी लोकेशन नहीं लेता, और पहले आपकी अनुमति माँगता है।
- आपकी रिक्वेस्ट — पर्ची, हार्वेस्टर और ट्रांसपोर्ट की रिक्वेस्ट।
ऐप आपको मिल के पास रखी आपकी जानकारी भी दिखाता है: किसान कोड, नाम, पिता का नाम, गाँव, मोबाइल नंबर, बैंक का नाम, IFSC और खाते के सिर्फ़ आख़िरी 4 अंक। आप इसे सही बता सकते हैं या कह सकते हैं कि कुछ गलत है। आपका जवाब और उसका समय आपके किसान रिकॉर्ड के साथ रखा जाता है।
2. केन फ़ील्ड मैनेजर ऐप क्या जानकारी लेता है (MSPIL कर्मचारी)
- कर्मचारी लॉगिन — मोबाइल नंबर और केन ऑफ़िस का सेट किया पासवर्ड। हम पासवर्ड को सिर्फ़ एक-तरफ़ा हैश के रूप में रखते हैं।
- किसानों की जानकारी जो कर्मचारी देखते या लिखते हैं — नाम, पिता का नाम, फ़ोन नंबर, गाँव; जारी पर्चियाँ; हार्वेस्टर और ट्रांसपोर्ट का चुनाव।
- खेत सर्वे — खेत की GPS लोकेशन, फ़सल की हालत के नोट्स और हर सर्वे में अधिकतम तीन फ़ोटो; कर्मचारी की चाहें तो प्रोफ़ाइल फ़ोटो।
- कैमरा — सर्वे की फ़ोटो लेने और केन यार्ड में गेट पर्ची का QR कोड स्कैन करने के लिए। QR कोड फ़ोन पर ही पढ़ा जाता है; कोई वीडियो रिकॉर्ड नहीं होता।
- यार्ड फ़ोन जोड़ना — ऐप की बनाई एक ID और फ़ोन का ब्रांड व मॉडल, जो सिर्फ़ मिल के अपने लोकल नेटवर्क पर मिल के सर्वर को जाता है, ताकि यार्ड को पता रहे कि किस फ़ोन से ट्रॉली खाली हुई।
3. हम क्या नहीं करते
- किसी भी ऐप में कोई विज्ञापन नहीं, और कोई एनालिटिक्स या ट्रैकिंग टूल नहीं।
- हम किसी की जानकारी न बेचते हैं, न किराये पर देते हैं।
- ऐप आपके कॉन्टैक्ट, SMS, कॉल लॉग या फ़ाइलें नहीं पढ़ते।
4. हम यह जानकारी क्यों लेते हैं
गन्ना सप्लाई चलाने और किसानों को सही पेमेंट करने के लिए: पर्ची जारी करना और उसका हिसाब रखना, गन्ने की तौल, गन्ने का हिसाब और पेमेंट, कटाई व ढुलाई की योजना, फ़सल सर्वे, और आपकी सप्लाई के बारे में आपसे संपर्क।
5. जानकारी और किसे मिलती है
सिर्फ़ इन्हें, और सिर्फ़ उतनी जितनी हमारे लिए उनका काम करने को ज़रूरी है:
- होस्टिंग — हमारा क्लाउड सर्वर Railway पर चलता है; मिल अपने सर्वर पर भी डेटा रखती है।
- नक्शे — नक्शे की तस्वीरें Esri (सैटेलाइट) और OpenStreetMap से आती हैं, और जगह की खोज Photon (komoot) से होती है। इन्हें सिर्फ़ देखा जा रहा नक्शे का हिस्सा और आपकी लिखी जगह का नाम मिलता है — आपका नाम या फ़ोन नंबर नहीं।
- हमारा बैंक — आपको पेमेंट के लिए आपका नाम, बैंक खाता और राशि।
- सरकारी विभाग — जब क़ानून ज़रूरी करे (जैसे गन्ना विभाग या टैक्स विभाग)।
6. सुरक्षा
ऐप और हमारे क्लाउड सर्वर के बीच का सारा डेटा एन्क्रिप्टेड (HTTPS) जाता है, और फ़ोन में लॉगिन टोकन एन्क्रिप्ट करके रखा जाता है। फ़ील्ड मैनेजर ऐप की यार्ड स्क्रीन मिल के निजी लोकल नेटवर्क पर मिल के सर्वर से बात करती है। कर्मचारी सिर्फ़ उतना देखते हैं जितना उनके काम के लिए ज़रूरी है; पूरा बैंक खाता नंबर सिर्फ़ MSPIL के एडमिन और अकाउंट्स टीम को दिखता है, और फ़ील्ड मैनेजर ऐप में यह कभी नहीं दिखता।
7. जानकारी कब तक रखी जाती है
- किसान, सप्लाई, तौल और पेमेंट के रिकॉर्ड — जब तक भारतीय क़ानून हिसाब-किताब और टैक्स के रिकॉर्ड रखना ज़रूरी करता है (कंपनी कानून, 2013 के अनुसार कम से कम आठ साल), और जब तक कोई पेमेंट या विवाद बाकी है।
- ऐप लॉगिन की जानकारी (पिन या पासवर्ड का हैश) — जब तक आप ऐप इस्तेमाल करते हैं। ऐप खाता हटाने के लिए कहने पर मिटा दी जाती है।
- आपके बनाए खेत के नक्शे और सर्वे फ़ोटो — जब तक आप MSPIL को गन्ना देते हैं, फ़सल और कटाई की योजना के लिए। आप अपने बनाए खेत के नक्शे मिटाने को कह सकते हैं।
8. आपके विकल्प
- अपनी जानकारी ऐप में देखें; सुधार के लिए अपने केन मैनेजर या केन ऑफ़िस से संपर्क करें।
- फ़ोन की सेटिंग में कभी भी लोकेशन की अनुमति बंद करें — इसकी ज़रूरत सिर्फ़ खेत का नक्शा बनाने में है।

9. बच्चे
ये ऐप वयस्क गन्ना किसानों और MSPIL कर्मचारियों के लिए हैं, बच्चों के लिए नहीं।
